About the event
Nature therapy utilizes the natural environment as a tool for healing. It has been practiced for centuries in many indigenous cultures but has more recently gained recognition among Western practitioners. Also called ecotherapy or green therapy, nature therapy helps people reconnect with the earth and revive their instinct to interact with and appreciate the natural world. Outdoor activities like hiking or mindful walking are known to lower stress, anxiety and depression, increase focus and improve sleep. It enhances both physical and mental health.
We will meet at the Cedar Hill State Park Talala trail head for a 2.3 mile moderate hike. This silent hike also includes grounding breathwork and mindful meditation. An Adult Day Pass is required and must be purchased from the park for $7. Reserving your Day Pass online in advance is recommended, especially on weekends. This ticket includes a guided silent hike, meditation and breathwork. Water, sunscreen and insect repellent will be available if needed. The Participation Fee does not include park entrance fees. 50% of all proceeds from participation fees will be donated to the park.
